HKPC Showcases Infinite Possibilities of “Future Manufacturing” and New Productive Forces

GITEX Global 2024, the world’s premier tech showcase, kicked off in the UAE. The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), a leader in cutting-edge R&D and comprehensive manufacturing services, is showcasing its “Future Manufacturing” theme. Their booth highlights AI-driven “Microfactory” solutions and innovative tech, demonstrating Hong Kong’s prowess in new industrialization.

HKPC, Hong Kong’s first public body to exhibit at GITEX Global, is teaming up with other Hong Kong exhibitors. They aim to spotlight Hong Kong’s I&T achievements, helping the world grasp Hong Kong’s unique strengths as a global I&T hub. This aligns with the national strategy of boosting productivity through technology, enhancing Hong Kong’s global competitiveness.

The HKPC booth has drawn significant interest at GITEX Global. Experts from governments, top companies, universities, and research institutes worldwide, along with representatives from Hong Kong’s Economic and Trade Office in Dubai, have shown keen interest in HKPC’s innovative tech and solutions. They engaged with HKPC’s tech team, discussing future manufacturing trends.

HKPC’s experts eagerly shared insights from the recent “Hong Kong Manufacturing Industries Development Study Report”. The report highlighted global trends in manufacturing, including customization and sustainability, which resonated strongly with attendees.

The booth also displayed “Microfactory” solutions and success stories featuring advanced smart production tech. These included Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT), digital twin scenes, extended reality (XR) tech, humanoid robots, and new materials. These solutions enable flexible production models, achieving customization and eco-friendly production, thus promoting industrial advancement.

Dr. Lawrence CHEUNG, HKPC’s Chief Innovation Officer, stated, “We’re excited to be in Dubai, looking to connect with global tech experts, partners, and industry clients. We aim to explore teamwork opportunities in future manufacturing and smart transformation. The positive response to our ‘Microfactory’ solutions proves Hong Kong’s research strengths. As a pilot production base, it shows the feasibility and research capabilities of Hong Kong’s tech. We’re confident in expanding ‘Microfactory’ tech from local SMEs to international scenarios, meeting diverse production needs of large enterprises. At GITEX Global, HKPC will use Hong Kong’s unique advantages of strong national support and global connections. We’ll better support GBA enterprises and other Chinese mainland regions in going global, while attracting overseas firms to explore the GBA and Chinese mainland markets.”

During the five-day GITEX Global, HKPC will meet with global industry, academic, and research representatives. They’ll exchange research findings and explore win-win cooperation chances. They’ll also promote the concept of new productive forces to overseas institutions and investors, facilitating its global use as a growth engine for world development.

HKPC invites all stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and research interested in future manufacturing, new industrialization, and new productive forces to strengthen ties with HKPC. GITEX Global attendees are welcome to visit HKPC’s booth (H24-A20) to interact with our expert team. The Hong Kong public can also schedule a visit to the “Future”.
