Google AI Mode Goes Live Across MENA Region

Google has launched its ‘AI Mode’ in the UAE and MENA region, marking a major development in search technology. The advanced feature runs on a custom version of the latest Gemini 2.5 model and reaches users in 180 countries, including most of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The new technology has changed how people search. Google reports that AI Mode users write questions two to three times longer than regular search queries. Users can now get answers to complex, multi-part questions in a single search instead of multiple attempts. The feature brings a major improvement in search capabilities by combining multimodal input with advanced reasoning to handle complex queries faster. The rollout has not reached some European markets like France, Germany, and Italy.

Google has started rolling out AI Mode to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This expansion is part of the company’s global push to reach 180 countries and territories. Users can find this feature in a dedicated tab on Google Search results and the Google app for Android and iOS devices.

The company first launched AI Mode in the United States last May before expanding to the United Kingdom and India in July. Millions of users throughout the MENA region can now access this feature. The service currently works only in English, but Google plans to add more languages soon.

Users across the region will get access to AI Mode gradually over the next few days[41]. This major step aligns with Google’s strategy to blend advanced artificial intelligence into its worldwide search infrastructure.

AI Mode turns the standard search engine into an interactive, chat-like experience. Users can now search more naturally and ask follow-up questions without making multiple queries.

The company calls this its “most powerful AI search experience”. AI Mode helps users handle complex tasks like comparing products and planning trips effectively. Google has confirmed that new functions will be added to the feature steadily.

Google’s most advanced reasoning model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, powers the AI Mode experience in the MENA region. This custom Gemini version stands out at handling complex problems that need detailed analysis and comparison.

The system’s sleek interface hides an innovative “query fan-out” technique that changes how search works. Users ask questions, and the system breaks them down into subtopics while searching multiple data sources at once. This allows AI Mode to tuck deeper into the web than regular search methods and find hyper-relevant content that matches user queries perfectly.

Deep Search uses the same Gemini 2.5 Pro model but takes its capabilities even further for complex research tasks. The system runs hundreds of background searches, connects information from different sources, and creates detailed, fully-cited reports in minutes instead of hours.

Gemini 2.5 Pro comes with a 1 million token context window and will soon expand to 2 million tokens. This big capacity helps the model understand huge datasets from different information sources like text, audio, images, video, and code repositories.

The model shows remarkable reasoning abilities and leads in common coding, math, and science measurements. MENA region users find AI Mode valuable when they tackle complex tasks like comparing products, planning trips, or following detailed how-to guides.

AI Mode reshapes how people search in the MENA region with its true multimodal approach. Users discover completely new ways to interact with the search engine through its accessible interface. The system accepts questions in text, uploaded images, and voice commands.

‘Search Live’ brings voice input capabilities that let users ask questions and hear AI-generated responses while they work in other apps. Users naturally follow up with more questions to dig deeper into topics without breaking their focus.

AI Mode’s multimodal understanding goes beyond voice. Users snap photos or upload images to ask questions about what catches their eye. The system analyzes these images in detail by spotting objects, materials, colors, and arrangements before giving relevant answers.

The system’s smart design shows different elements based on what users need and how content flows. This flexibility works through a layered, context-aware structure that remembers previous searches, places visited, and user actions to keep track of each person’s context.

Recent data shows AI Mode users’ questions run two to three times longer than regular search queries. The accessible interface makes complex conversations feel natural. All the same, the system falls back to standard web results when it’s not confident enough to give AI-powered answers.

MENA users will soon access Search Live’s camera features. This update will help them show Google what they see as it happens.

Google’s AI Mode rollout in the MENA region marks a most important milestone in search technology development. Users can now experience a powerful integration of Gemini 2.5 Pro that changes how they interact with online information. The technology gives MENA region users the ability to develop complex, multi-part questions without multiple searches. This saves valuable time and delivers more detailed results.

The multimodal capabilities mark a substantial leap forward. People can now interact naturally through text, images, and voice commands. Advanced features like Search Live’s camera integration will soon be available to users throughout the region. This enables real-time visual queries and boosts everyday productivity. English support will expand to other languages, making these powerful tools available to more users in the MENA digital world.

Google’s AI Mode represents more than a feature update – it stands as a fundamental change in search technology. The sophisticated “query fan-out” technique works with an extensive token context window to enable unprecedented depth in information retrieval. These advances arrive at a crucial time as digital transformation speeds up across the Middle East and North Africa.

A new search era has dawned in the MENA region. AI capabilities that once existed only in theory now serve as practical tools for millions of users. AI Mode’s introduction, while still growing, signals a shift where natural, conversational interactions replace fragmented keyword searches. This transformation will shape how people in the region learn, work, and find information in the years ahead.
