The collaboration extends beyond trade, encompassing investments in key sectors such as logistics, technology, and renewable energy. A notable example is COSCO Shipping Limited’s designation of Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi as its Middle East operations center, aiming to boost annual capacity to 6 million TEUs. The energy sector has seen significant cooperation, with multiple agreements signed with Chinese nuclear energy organizations. Chinese investments in the UAE increased by over 16 percent annually in 2023, reaching AED 4.77 billion, while the UAE boosted its investments in China by 120 percent, accounting for 90 percent of Arab countries’ investments in China.
